2009 Beach FC Tryout Notification Policy
Dear Beach FC Families,
In an effort to more quickly notify players of their selection after tryouts the Beach FC staff has decided to revise our accepted player notification policy. In the past, coaches and DOC's were tasked with calling and notifying each individual of his or her selection to a certain team. Although effective, this method proved to be time consuming and ultimately has pushed back target administrative dates such as deposit deadlines, manager meetings, etc. After taking a very long look at our tryout protocol, we have decided to use email as the major method of notification. Coaches and DOC's will still be available to speak to, but in an effort to finalize our rosters in a timely manner, the following protocol will be followed:
- An email will be sent to each accepted player at the email address provided during tryout registration. This email will notify them of their selection and also provide pertinent registration information and deadlines.
- Roster spots will be considered accepted when the initial deposit is made.
- Selections for each team will be posted on the Beach FC website within 48 hours of the final tryout in the age group. Players will be identified by tryout # and first and last initial.
**Note: We understand that some players will be trying out for other clubs and may be selected to other teams. We ask that players in these circumstances come to a decision in a timely manner since there will be players from Beach FC tryouts that may wish to accept the position vacated by a player choosing to go to another club.
**Note: There is the possibility that a player who receives email notification that he/she has made a "Black," "White," or "Piranhas Elite" team can still be elevated to a higher team depending on who accepts and who doesn't accept their roster spot on the higher team. For example, if John Doe receives an email that he has been selected to the U14 Black team, there is still the possibility that he can be elevated to the U14 Red team if someone on the Red team doesn't accept his or her roster spot. Even if John Doe accepts his roster spot on the U14 Black team by paying his deposit, he can still be elevated to the Red team if determined by the coach/DOC.
We understand that tryout time is always a tense time for players, parents, coaches, and staff. We will do our best to communicate as clearly as possible in a timely manner. Staff email addresses and phone numbers are clearly listed on the Beach FC website. Please do not hesitate to contact the appropriate staff member for your administrative/soccer questions.
Thank you in advance for your patience and your cooperation over the course of the next month. We look forward to a successful tryout period and an exciting summer.
Sincerely,
Steve Danbusky
