Malibu Mac's is a reflection of the ‘50s and ‘60s southern California surf scene – the “Gidget” era. Our menu features an eclectic fusion of Pacific coast favorites described in surf lingo, including Rippin' Rice Bowls, traditional Baja fish tacos, “Barge” Burritos, Beach Bunny Burgers, homemade desserts and California-style pizzas. We offer seafood, chicken, vegetarian dishes, fresh fruit, homemade salsa, 12 different draft beers and a variety of frozen and specialty drinks.
Upon entering Malibu Mac's guests are transported back in time, surrounded by surf memorabilia and colorful pastel décor. Vintage surfboards from California and custom artwork feature the achievements of surf legends including Greg Noll, Jack O'Neil and Joyce Hoffman. A concrete bar laced with vintage surf photos and advertisements wraps around a decorative West Coast lifeguard stand that houses four LCD televisions. We also have two wide-screen plasma TVs and a 10-foot projector screen!
Malibu Mac's celebrates the last great American phenomenon – the surfing craze introduced through the ‘Gidget' books and movies. A 1940s paddleboard, 1940s redwood surfboards, antique skateboards, and an authentic surfboard ridden by Greg Noll are just a few of the treasures on display at Malibu Mac's. Another attraction that makes us unique is our game room, which is home to one of less than a dozen surfboard simulators in the country.
The dining room and bar are smoke-free until 10:00 p.m. every day, but patio seating is available for guests who prefer to smoke. The fully covered and conditioned patio also serves as a private dining room for large parties and special events – it may be fully enclosed or open to the outside, weather permitting.
Malibu Mac's celebrated its grand opening at the end of July with a VIP party to benefit the Naval Special Warfare Foundation, and the restaurant officially opened its doors to the public on Tuesday, August 1, 2006.
