Player Development and Fun! - "We Play for the Fun of It!"

The Club’s Recreation Program has been in existence for more than twenty years. Based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, we offer children the opportunity to participate in soccer and experience team play on the recreational level from ages U4-U16.

Our Recreation program was founded on the principles of “We play for the fun of it,” “everyone plays,” and “to play is to win.” These principles are an important and crucial aspect of our Recreation program’s philosophy. In our U4 through U12 Recreation program, teams are formed by neighborhoods, not by politics or insider knowledge. Playing other Recreation teams in-house, the emphasis is on developing skills and having fun. Scores, win/loss records, and league standings are deliberately excluded. The league was formed to allow all children to have fun while developing soccer skills.

To keep our registration fees as low as possible, the Recreation Program is almost exclusively run by volunteers. The outline of fees for all Recreation players is:

1. U4-U6 Recreation Players pay $70 per season.
2. U7-U12 Recreation Players pay $80 per season.
3. U13-U16 Recreation Players pay $95 per season.

Fees for U4-U12 Recreation Players includes a T-shirt, trophy, referee fees, Recreation Technical Director salary, insurance/registration fee paid to VYSA (our state association), administrative costs, field and equipment costs, and coach license courses. Fees for U13-U16 Recreation players includes a league fee (TASL), certified referees, insurance/registration fee paid to VYSA (our state association), Recreation Technical Director salary, administrative costs, and coach license courses.
