Super 20 Men and Women Reach National Finals in New Hampshire: Piranhas Super 20 Women and Men Earn Trips to North American Finals in New Hampshire on August 2-5.

Women:

The South Atlantic Division leading Hampton Roads Piranhas U20 Women extended their lead over the remainder of the pack on Saturday with a 5-0 win in Manassas against the Northern Va. Majestics.

An impressive, two goal, one assist performance out of striker Genna Brand produced a 3-0 half time lead for the Piranhas. The Piranhas got on the board early with an outstanding goal. Brand about to receive a ball at the top of the six from Ashley Kukura allowed the ball to go through her legs, her movement froze the keeper and the ball finished in the back of the net. Brand then scored twice; her second goal coming off an assist from Megan Ryan to give the Piranhas their 3-0 halftime lead.

The second half saw the Piranhas maintain their dominant play and finished off the match with two goals from Victoria Jackson. The fifth goal came off an assist from Anna Curfman. The Piranhas have now secured a trip to the North American Finals. The Piranhas are now 6-0-0 and have scored 21 goals and allowed 1 goal on the season.

Men:

The Piranhas Super 20 Men clinched the South Atlantic Division on Thursday as they defeated the Northern Virginia Royals 5-1 in Nokesville, Va. The men finish the season at home against Triangle FC on Wednesday, July 18 at 1:00pm at Shipps Corner. The Piranhas have scored 20 goals and have only allowed 6. The Piranhas have now secured a trip to the North American Finals.

Hampton Roads Piranhas Super 20 Director, Andy Walker, states, “We are very proud of our players as they have worked hard for 3 months to reach this level. We are excited to represent the club in New Hampshire. Most importantly, our players will be better prepared for their rigorous College and Club seasons over the next 10 months.”
